A total immersion in Faenza and its surroundings: from the traditional decorated majolicas of the city centre to the luxuriant hills of Brisighella and Casola Valsenio, painted in different shades of green.

1st day

Arrival in Faenza and transfer to 3/4* Hotel.
Lunch in a typical restaurant.
After lunch, guided tour of the main monuments of the historical centre, and entrance at the
International Museum of Ceramics: the culture of ceramics spanning five continents and many
centuries is documented in these rooms, which contain the largest collection in the world
dedicated to ceramics.
Dinner. Overnight stay in Hotel in Faenza or surroundings.

2nd day

Breakfast at the Hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to Casola Valsenio for a tour of the Herb Garden dedicated to the
conservation and growing of plants of special medicinal and aromatic interest that includes over
480 species of wild plants used since the late Middle Ages. The garden is located on a small terrace
overlooking the wonderful Senio valley.

After lunch, transfer to the airport or train station.

3rd day

Breakfast at the Hotel.

Guided tour around the old market “Il Quadrilatero”, where the main craft guilds of the city used to work and sell their goods since the Middle Ages. In this narrow streets antiquity and modernity blend together, since most of these shops have preserved the historical architecture and furnishing, creating so an atmosphere suspended in time. Gastronomy shopping has never been so fantastic!

Half day guided tour of Dante Alighieri’s Tomb and some of the extraordinary early Christian and Byzantine religious buildingsof the city (5th-6th centuries AD), included by UNESCO on the World Heritage List. Let yourself be astonished by the outstanding mosaics that will feast your eyes on the gold!

2nd day

Breakfast at the Hotel.

You will then be picked up at the hotel to join a mosaic lab: you will visit the workshop and learn the secrets of mosaic-making, creating your very own souvenir to take home.

In the afternoon, guided tour of Cervia Salt pans. This area, which is the southern access point and station of the Po Delta Regional Park, has got an environment of extraordinary beauty and fascination from a botanical and avifaunal point of view. Here you will have the chance to spot herons, cormorants, avocets, kingfishers and, during the right season, if you are lucky, flamingos.

3rd day

Breakfast at the Hotel.

Transfer to Faenza. Short walk from the city centre to the International Museum of Ceramics where we will start our guided tour inside the museum. The culture of ceramics spanning five continents and many centuries is documented in these rooms, which contain the largest collection in the world dedicated to ceramics.

IF YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH ITALIAN COOKERY: possibility to take cooking classes instead of the mosaic lab. You will be taught to prepare some of the most traditional dishes of the region and, at the end, taste what you have cooked. Lunch included.

A combined tour that matches some of the characteristic elements of the Emilia-Romagna: the big city of Bologna placed in the middle of the region, the beautiful and close to the seaside Ravenna, and Brisighella, laid down on the nearby hills.

1st day

Arrival in Bologna and transfer to 3/4* Hotel.
Lunch in a typical restaurant in the historical centre to taste the savoury flavours of this region.
Guided tour of the most important monuments of the city. From the huge Piazza Maggiore, the
core of Bologna, you can let yourself be seduced by some of the buildings that overlook the
square: Palazzo D'Accursio (headquarter of the Town Hall) and the Basilica of San Petronio,
housing the largest sundial in the world (67 meters). Around the corner, you can admire the
Fountain of Neptune, one of the symbols of the city. In front of it, you will find Palazzo Re Enzo
that conceals the Voltone del Podestà, which represents one of the so called “7 secrets of
Bologna”.

2nd day

Breakfast at the Hotel.
Transfer to Brisighella, where we will begin our guided tour discovering this village lost in a natural
and still untouched scenery.
Oil tasting: different types of olive oil, served with some traditional cheeses, jam, honey and wines
of this territory. Between October/November it is also possible to see an olive-press working.
After a short walk through the streets of the Medieval Centre, the tour continues to Ravenna.

After breakfast, guided tour to the Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca in Bologna. Located
atop a forested hill, is both a reassuring visual landmark for people from the city returning home
and a symbol of the city itself. It is possible to reach it by car or walking the 3.8km of monumental
roof arcade (Portico di San Luca) consisting of 666 arches, built to protect the icon of the Virgin of
St. Luca as it was paraded up the hill.

An immersive tour into the medieval heart of Emilia-Romagna region: visiting some of the most beautiful castles of this area, an ancient village from the Middle Ages and a labyrinth, you will feel as if you were thrown back in time.

1st day

Arrival in Parma and transfer to 3/4* Hotel.

Transfer to Fontanellato and guided tour of Rocca San Vitale, a fortress in the centre of this little
town, surrounded by a deep moat and accessible only through a drawbridge: here you will see
some beautiful frescoes by Parmigianino and an interesting optical chamber from 19 th century.
Dinner. Overnight stay in Hotel in Parma.

2nd day

Breakfast at the Hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to Piacenza and guided tour of Rivalta Castle: this suggestive noble
residence, surrounded by a magnificent park, is entirely furnished and is home to the new
Museum of the Military Costume: 90 uniforms, arms, portraits and documents from Risorgimento
to the Second World War.

After lunch, transfer to Grazzano Visconti, a unique place where the time seems to stand still: in
this village, people continue to work with wood, iron and ceramics, creating beautiful pieces of art,
in an evocative medieval context.
We will then reach the Labirinto della Masone, the largest labyrinth in the world. Entirely made of
bamboo, it is a maze for losing oneself in, for fantasizing and reflecting.

3rd day

After breakfast, guided tour of Torrechiara Castle: built in the middle of 15 th century and one of
the most important examples of castle architecture in Italy, it stands on the first hills of Parma,
overlooking the nearby fields.
